Obama Signs Order That Ok's Stem Cell Research

   On Monday March 9,2009 President Barack Obama sealed the deal that allows scientist to study stem cells. This will open up research and possible cures for diseases like some cancers, Parkinson's, spinal cord injuries and others. 

Stem cell research is controversial because the cells are obtained from embryos and adults. It can in some cases destroy the embryo. Opponents state that it can also lead to cloning, which can lessen the value of human life as we now know it. Proponents argue that it can have incredible potential for medical treatments.   

I think stem cell research can be a great help to the medical field, as long as it is done without breaking the law.
